It's snowing outside

Well it was only a matter of time they told us before it'd snow. We got a small dump on 18 October that made the ground white - and it's pretty much snowed every day but not enough to remain on the ground. So finally on 28 October we awoke to white fluffy snow all over the ground. Of course there have now been a huge number of fender benders around the streets with people driving as they do when it's dry! Overnight there were 4 road deaths due to the slippery conditions and one man froze to death.

Ian has tried out the mandatory test of the ABS brakes in the car park. Thankfully they're good! And we really notice the change in driver habits - average speed has dropped from about 65-70 to 35-49 kms/hr. They put salt and grit on the road to both melt the snow and give traction - makes for bloody messy sludge!

But it's soooo beautiful. We could probably cross country ski from out front door now! These pics are in the park across the road from our unit (that tall high rise at the end of the path).
