North Queensland Visitors

Marg and Joyce arrived from Calgary on 17 August following a whirlwind tour of the southern Rockies. On Saturday we headed to Jasper for a tour of the glaciers and icebergs of the north. We spent Saturday exploring the Cavell and Angel glacier, Maligne Canyon and Patricia and Pyramid Lakes near Jasper. An extremely challenging walk over huge bolders to the Angel Glacier and it's icebergs took up the morning. We were lucky to hear the thunderous roar of the glacier moving. We spent the night in a wonderful log chalet in Jasper and on Sunday headed south to the Athabasca Glacier (which the intrepid explorers undertook a challenging tour onto the glacier itself), Bow Lake and Peyto Lake.
The old girls are having a ball and have been very well behaved - we've asked them to stay on!
